The Timebox

Ok so I really, really wanted to post a poem, so here is one that I am relatively happy with, though I do tend to be very critical of my work, but anyway here it is and I hope you enjoy it.

Upon a wall the time box stood
Each hour lacking that clear, true chime
The gears that turned spun thoughts of childhood
While thoughts went back in time
Come each hour the crazy redbird burst forth on springs
And delighted children clapped their hands
Coco, coco the redbird sings
And sorrow faded to distant lands
Silent has each hour become
While the cross redbird waited disapproving
And the children hoped their faces glum
Years went by and still the time box stayed unmoving
Always to remain still as stone
The redbird’s song is now lost in the silent unknown.

  1. This flows like the lyrics to a song ... I want to hear you sing redbird! :)
